Demand Solutions sees a remarkable on the spot porting of its application to Pramati Server

Challenge

DMI leverages the J2EE platform to its fullest in its latest release that allows its global customers to aggregate, filter, sort and manipulate huge volumes of information. The company had been looking for a software infrastructure vendor with a proven track record of building J2EE application server technology to boost its software underpinnings.

Solution

DMI met with Pramati at JavaOne 2003 in San Francisco. Impressed with the product demonstration, DMI developers decided to try the product on the spot on a laptop. A few quick installation steps had Pramati Server up and running and another five or so minutes were required for defining environment properties like data sources, messaging queues and topics using Pramati's visual Management Console. And Pramati's Deploy Tool smoothly deployed the application on Pramati Server. A few routine tests confirmed the software was functioning, as it should with Pramati Server as the underlying engine. After rigorous testing at DMI development center Pramati Server was certified as a preferred platform for deploying DMI solutions.

Pramati Server's strict compliance to the J2EE specification and its powerful tools for migration and deployment gave DMI the flexibility to deploy on Pramati Servers without adding any maintenance or porting overhead costs. While certifying on other application servers was extremely complex and time consuming, it was completely painless with Pramati Server.

Penetrate price-sensitive markets. Asking customers to license an expensive application server for deploying the solution was a bottleneck in the sales process for DMI, especially in price sensitive market segments. By offering Pramati Server as the preferred platform, DMI can reduce the deployment cost meet customers' budget constraints.
