How do I Instal Pramati Server on Unix?

To install Pramati Server on Unix:

  1. Verify your existing system configuration against the requirements for Pramati Server.
  2. Execute java -jar PServer<version_no>.jar from the directory where the installation file is downloaded (or from the CD, if you are installing from a product distribution CD).
  3. The installation wizard starts and the license agreement appears. Read the license agreement. Select the check box for "I accept the terms of license agreement", and click Next.
  4. Select the directory where the Server is to be installed. You must have write permissions on this directory.
  5. Specify the path of the supported JDK (say, Java 1.4) installed on the machine. Specifying an incorrect path leads to an installation failure.
  6. Enter the licensee name. This can be the name of the evaluator or the customer in whose name the license has been issued.
  7. Enter the license key and the default administrator login details. These details specify the default login credentials with which the Server would start. They can be changed later at runtime using the Console GUI.
The installation starts using the above values. A successful installation installs all the specified components under the specified installation directory. Shortcuts to start the Server are created under Start > Programs > PServer <version_no>.
