Java WebStart is a client-side application that is associated with a Web browser. When you launch a Java Network Launching Protocol (JNLP) and API file, a browser launches the Java WebStart that automatically downloads, caches, and runs the required Java-based application. You can now download and launch applications without any installation procedures.
Note: Refer to the Java WebStart website for more information.
